DIY Diwali Lantern Inspired by Maratha Wadas and Sahyadri Forts

The Concept: A Lantern Inspired by Maratha Wadas and Forts

Instead of a traditional paper lantern, I envisioned a Diwali lantern inspired by Maratha architecture — the grand wadas with wooden windows, arches, and intricate jharokhas.
The centerpiece features Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj standing at the window, overlooking the glory of the 12 Sahyadri Forts — recently recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites.

It’s not just a lantern; it’s a glowing tribute to Maharashtra’s timeless legacy and royal heritage.
