How to Make Guna Caves themed Ganpati Decoration Inspired by “Manjummel Boys Movie”

Introduction

Ganpati festival is a time of immense joy, devotion, and creativity. This year, I decided to infuse our love for cinema with our Ganpati decoration, drawing inspiration from the popular movie “Manjummel Boys.” Our theme centers around the adventurous Guna cave, meticulously crafted to bring the magic of the film into our celebration. Here’s a glimpse into our unique and imaginative decoration.

The Concept

“Manjummel Boys,” a film that resonates with many for its adventure and camaraderie, became the unique theme for Ganpati decoration. The movie’s thrilling sequences and heartfelt moments inspired me to recreate the iconic Guna cave scene. This not only adds a cinematic touch to our festivities but also symbolizes the triumph of good over adversity, a fitting tribute to Lord Ganpati.

The Diorama of the Rescue Operation

To add a dynamic element to our decoration, created a detailed diorama of the rescue operation carried out by the friends in “Manjummel Boys.” This scene is central to the movie’s plot and perfectly encapsulates the spirit of bravery and unity. Miniature figurines, carefully placed within the cave, depict the rescue mission with precision. The use of LED lights and sound effects brings the diorama to life, making it a captivating centerpiece.

Step-by-Step Guide to Creating the Decoration

Here is how we brought this theme to life using various materials:

Materials Used

  • Big carton box of a refrigerator (structure of the whole project)
  • Old Amazon parcel paper bags (stone effect)
  • Sponge (grass texture)
  • Miniatures of car and boys
  • Miniatures of two boys inside the caves (made using Mouldit clay)
  • Button LEDs with coin cell (headlights of the rescuer boy)
  • Black color (stone)
  • Paste of Fevicol + cornstarch + black color (coating on the stone effect paper)
  • Skewers for tripid stand (pulley rope)

Steps

  1. Structure Creation:
    • Use the big carton box of a refrigerator as the base structure for the cave and diorama.
  2. Stone Effect:
    • Tear the old Amazon parcel paper bags into uneven pieces and crumple them to create a textured stone effect.
    • Mix Fevicol, cornstarch, and black color to form a thick paste.
    • Coat the crumpled paper pieces with this paste to give them a rugged stone-like appearance.
    • Allow the pieces to dry completely before attaching them to the carton box structure to form the cave walls and floor.
  3. Grass Texture:
    • Cut the sponge into small, and blend it on mixer grinder to mimic grass and moss.
    • Attach these sponge pieces to the cave structure, particularly around the entrance and crevices, using Fevicol.
  4. Creating Miniatures:
    • Use Mouldit clay to sculpt the miniatures of the two boys inside the cave.
    • Paint the miniatures once the clay has hardened.
    • Small miniature of boys above are purchased from local stationery and them they are modified using hot gun to change the postions also painted them according to the cloths they wore in the movie
  5. Lighting:
    • Attach button LEDs with coin cells to the miniature boys to act as headlights for the rescuer.
    • Strategically place the LEDs to highlight key areas of the diorama, adding to the dramatic effect.
  6. Final Touches:
    • Add crushed paper on the base of the cave and add led light in back and front of the idol
    • Position Lord Ganpati inside the cave as the focal point of the decoration.

Ganpati Inside the Cave

At the heart of our decoration sits Lord Ganpati, inside the Guna cave. The serene and powerful presence of Ganpati amidst the adventurous backdrop creates a harmonious blend of devotion and creativity. This placement symbolizes the protection and guidance of Ganpati in all our endeavors, much like the friends’ rescue mission in the movie.

Our “Manjummel Boys” themed Ganpati decoration is more than just a visual treat; it is a celebration of courage, friendship, and the divine. It reflects our belief that Ganpati, the remover of obstacles, is always with us, guiding us through life’s adventures and challenges.
