Learn how to make Meghdambhari for Ganpati Decoration

In regions of Maharashtra, India, particularly in areas with a deep reverence for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, “Meghdambari” refers to a structure or shrine where his image or relics are enshrined. These Meghdambaris serve as focal points for devotion and remembrance, drawing pilgrims and admirers seeking solace, inspiration, and a connection to the legendary leader’s spirit. Adorned with intricate designs and often located in serene surroundings, these structures stand as testament to the enduring legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, offering a space for reflection, prayer, and cultural enrichment. Just as Shivrai’s principles of valor, justice, and resilience continue to resonate through generations, Meghdambaris stand as enduring symbols of his indomitable spirit and profound impact on Indian history and identity.

Material Used

  1. File card : I am using file card which is thinner than the normal cardboad that we get in stationery. I recently discovered this and i love this material as it is better than the normal cardboard in many aspects like flexibility, cutting, durability and affordablefile card used for cardboard craft
  2. Glue : I normally use 2 to 3 glue for single joints, as it makes the project durable, so for this project i have used Fevibond, Flexkwik and Fevicol (school glue or pva glue). Fevibond is used to join big edges and corners, for small pieces i directly join the two sides and drop flexkwik in between, then after it is dried apply a layer of fevicol on the joints which would seal the joints and make the file card firm. I have also used fabric glue not for joints but for the texture, as you can see on the video I have done texture work on the top shed.
  3. Paper Tape : I use paper tape on joints to get smooth finish and also proper hold
  4. Color : Black Color for base coat and broze metallic

  2. – Sir how you cut the top based layouts at different papers.
    – which type of black colour you use for final painting.
    – the glue using Technics wrt of paper.

    1. I have tried and tested….cardboard is applied with feviqwik and then glue mixture
It becomes as hard as plastic and also with the mesh design all the cardboard together act as a pillar so it can divide the load
You can also use iron rods or skrewers under to make it more storng

      1. Really Good Model you made
I just had three things to ask:-
(1)Which board did you use and from where to purchase it?
        (2)Cost to make this?
(3)How many boards will be needed to make this design
